The BBC commentators at the 2009 worlds made a good point- fewer and fewer teams are now competing in their national colours. Until a few years ago the US always competed in red, white and blue (usually with stars for good measure).......... No more........... After Nastia won the olympic all-around title in pink- it became the
USA's lucky leotards for nearly everything.

They're not the only ones - is it the new fashion or is it all a plan to make 'guess the country' more challenging? There's no rule saying you must compete in team colours but until recently it was the norm. How about these?
Italy - Sky Blue

Russia- all varieties of purple

China - Pink

Canada - Blue

Croatia- Day suit with collar and cuffs!

Mind you - there's always the odd country that makes up for the rest!
