Went to see Superman Returns the other night. Nice opportunity to really cool down, thanks to the wonders of air-con.
The effects were as you might expect fab and breath taking. Story wise, it was good and fairly original but managing not to contradict the Reeve-era films too much. This really did feel like a continuation of a story rather than re-boot, which seems all too popular of late. All the leads were strong and had their moments to shine.
I have to say however I thought it a little too long and played heavily on the sentimental to the point of nearly being bull in a china shop.
