Even at two and a half hours, the latest Harry Potter definitely benefited from being a trimmed version of the book. Having said that I feel some of the choices made were a bit odd. For example, quite why so much time was spent on teenage relationships but very little on the identity of the Half Blood Prince and just how clever he was, is beyond me.
Another minor issue I have is that while the film is rightly dark and full of foreboding, the music over the closing credits was unnecessarily cheerful in my view.
But is it worth a second viewing? Most certainly.
