It's not always been a classic at Valencia, but this weekend's European Grand Prix around the Spanish street circuit has all the makings to be a memorable one.
Sebastian Vettel underlined his double world champion credentials to take pole position in an extremely tight qualifying session on Saturday, with Britain's Lewis Hamilton and Pastor Maldonado rounding off the top three.
Hamilton's McLaren team-mate Jenson Button starts ninth while home favourite Fernando Alonso limped to a disappointing 11th on the grid in his Ferrari for round eight of the world championship.
