Tommy Hunter allowed just one run in his first career complete game, and the Texas Rangers used three home runs to power their way past the Seattle Mariners, 7-2, in the first of two Sunday games at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

Hunter (8-3) allowed two runs on six hits and a walk while fanning three to win for the fifth time in his last six decisions. Chris Davis, David Murphy and Nelson Cruz each hit a solo homer.

Ichiro Suzuki recorded his 199th hit and an RBI for the Mariners, who have lost six of seven. Doug Fister (2-2) allowed five runs and 10 hits in 4 2/3 frames to absorb the loss.

Texas got out to a quick lead, scoring once in the first on a Marlon Byrd RBI groundout and once in the second on Davis' two-out solo home run.

Suzuki recorded his 199th hit of the season in the third, looping a double down the left field line to score Ryan Langerhans, who had walked, to make it a 2-1 game.

But the Rangers started to pull away. In the fourth, Ivan Rodriguez doubled and scored on Esteban German's double two batters later. German then came home on Julio Borbon's single for a three-run cushion.

Suzuki had a chance for his 200th hit in the fifth but flied out to left. Murphy then gave Texas a 5-1 lead with a solo homer in the home half, and Elvis Andrus' sacrifice fly in the sixth extended the margin.

Cruz added a solo homer in the seventh to cap the scoring for Texas, and Suzuki grounded out to shortstop in the eighth in his last attempt of the game to reach 200 hits.

Adrian Beltre added an RBI single in the ninth to account for the final margin.
