THE teenage daughter of ex-City star Antoine Sibierski was found hanged in her apartment - the day after she was arrested over a row with her boyfriend.
The body of Sibylle Sibierski, 18, was discovered by police who broke into her flat in Altrincham on Monday after relatives raised concerns about her welfare.
Sibylle, who worked as a nightclub promoter, had been questioned the previous day by officers over an allegation of assault at the same address.
It is understood her boyfriend, Adam Tariq Mohammed, had suffered minor cuts and bruises to his face.
Sibylle was released without charge but officers were called back to the apartment the following day and found the teenager hanging inside.
Police said they do not believe there were any suspicious circumstances to her death. A message on the social networking site Facebook apparently from Sibylle’s devastated mother Isabelle said that she would ‘never be forgotten’.
Her French father Antoine, who played for City and Wigan before retiring last year, was too upset to talk when contacted at his Cheshire home.
Tributes to Sibylle, a former pupil of St Bede’s School, in Manchester and Cheadle and Marple Sixth Form College, were last night flooding in from her many friends.
One of her closest friends, Lauren Mcgrath, 19, said: “She was fun, very happy and always willing to help a friend. She always listened to people’s problems and put people first, before herself.
“She had a heart of gold. She was a real party girl. She liked going to the cinema with friends and shopping.
“She’s always been loved by people and she was very ambitious with her life. Whatever she wanted to achieve, she’d do it.”
The pair, who worked together, were out on Friday night.
Lauren added: “We always talked to each other and there was no sign of any troubles. She was fine. It’s heartbreaking, I wish she’d talked to someone.
College friend Rachel Kirkham said: “Sibylle was an amazing person and friend.
“Sibylle loved her little brother and sister, Axelle and Alessandro, with all of her heart. She had a big circle of friends and we will miss and love her always. She was our angel.” Shocked friends set up a tribute site on Facebook which had gathered more than 600 members as the news spread last night.
Sibylle had been promoting club nights at Manchester venues, including Lounge 31, in Shudehill, and The Birdcage, in The Printworks. It is understood she was also studying psychology at South Trafford College.
She had moved out of the £1.5m family home in Hale Barns into a £200,000 flat in Altrincham, but kept in close contact with her parents and spent Christmas with them. The message posted on the tribute page by her mother Isabelle last night said: “From Sibylle’s family, we thank you all for your kind messages and support. Especially to the person that open this tribute to our loving daughter. And you are right she will never be forgotten, she is still with us.”
In her last post on her own Facebook page in the early hours of Saturday, Sibylle told friends: “Had a very good evening, Heart & Soul was good and I love A very, very much :) xx.”
Friends of Mr Mohammed, who is believed to be a student at Sheffield University, said he was ‘devastated’ by Sibylle’s death.
It is understood he and Sibylle had met at Sankey’s nightclub in Manchester and had been together for about six months.
Greater Manchester Police said it had voluntarily referred the case to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC). Referral to the IPCC is routine in cases where a person found dead had previous contact with police. The case has also been passed to the coroner.
Sibylle’s father Antoine, 35, now works as a mediator helping to negotiate transfers and is still a regular at City home games. Last night City sent a tribute to his family along with their ‘best wishes at this difficult time’.
