Update:
Bryant appeared to injure his left foot late in the first half of Wednesday's win over the Bobcats, but played extensively in the second half, the Associated Press reports. However, he scored just five points on 2-of-12 shooting.
Recommendation:
The five points were the fewest Kobe has ever scored in a game in which he played at least 30 minutes. His sore foot was clearly robbing him of some of his speed and mobility, as he failed to score in the fourth quarter. "It was just stiff -- stiff and tight," he said. Bryant is dealing with numerous bumps and bruises - including a broken finger - but continues to play through the various maladies. Eventually he may need a rest, but Bryant's warrior mentality won't make it easy for coach Phil Jackson to convince him to take a night off.
