Today at the Olympics – Day 9

By Eurosport | Alex Chick

DON'T MISS

For all the British success, the 100m final remains the signature event of the Olympic Games. Defending champion Usain Bolt goes in as favourite, but doubts remain over his fitness and Yohan Blake will provide a stern test. Also in the mix are Tyson Gay, Justin Gatlin and - just maybe - Dwain Chambers.

Athletics - finals including 100m - 19:00-22:00

BIG NAMES IN ACTION
Usain Bolt men's 100m Round 1 Heats on Day 8
Andy Murray gets his first shot at Olympic gold as he takes on Roger Federer at Wimbledon. The Scot lost the Wimbledon final to Federer last month, but will count on the encouragement of a raucous Olympic crowd.

Tennis - Medal matches from 12:00

MORE ESSENTIAL VIEWING

Ben Ainslie will need to draw upon all of his skill if he is to claim a fourth Olympic sailing gold. The Briton must finish ahead of Jens Hogh-Christensen in the final medal race to win the competition - though if the pair drop too far down the pack the Netherlands' Pieter-Jan Postma could sneak in.

Sailing - Finn medal match - 14:00

THE LONDON 2012 VIBE

Astonished. As recently as Wednesday morning, Britain had no gold medals. Now we have 14 after the most successful single day in our Olympic history. Athletics golds from Jessica Ennis, Mo Farah and Greg Rutherford somehow managed to overshadow the rowers, who won two golds in 20 minutes yesterday morning. The women's team pursuit cyclists also struck gold to make it six of the best on Super Saturday.

WATER-COOLER CHAT

Bolt or Blake? Usain Bolt's big rival Yohan Blake won the Jamaican trials and is many people's tip to upset the star of Beijing in the 100m. Is Bolt's hamstring holding him back or has he been keeping something in reserve for the final? Tonight we will get our answers.
