Cairns keeps Commonwealth gold.

Imogen Cairns won the first gold for the british women in gymnastics today- successfully defending her vault title from 2006. On the Men's side Max Whitlock took silver on the pommel and Reiss Beckford silver on the floor.

The 6th stop on the Junior Grand Prix circuit began today in Dresden Germany. Many of the top contenders are now looking to collect their second medals of the series and secure a spot for the Grand Prix final in Beijing in December.

Elizaveta Tuktamisheva has taken a commanding lead over the ladies after the short programme. She sits almost 10 points ahead of american Christina Gao with Polina Agoranova (Russia) in 3rd.


Narumi Takahashi & Mervin Tran of Japan currently lead the pairs with last years JGP champs Wenjing Sui & Cong Han of China second place. Richard Dornbush of the USA currently leads the men's event
