That time of year again.

Busy Busy times - the gymnastics world is assembled in Rotterdam ready for the World Championships. The Couch Gymnast, Bridgid McCarthy is on site and has posted some awesome photos of training so far, along with reports for the official event website.

All teams look to be training well. Some questions still remain including-
Who will be the alternates who just miss out on competing?
How is the health of the USA's reigning world champion and silver medallist? Will Sloan or Bross compete in the all-around?
Can China contend for a team medal or is there best shot on individual events?
Can GB make it into the team final? (I really really hope so- they're looking great!)
How will the Aussies do after their busy schedule in Delhi?

According to TCG, Imogen Cairns returned home to Britain for all of one day after winning her 2 golds at the Commonwealths. She is now in Rotterdam and training hard as the alternate athlete, just in case. She's certainly earned her stripes.

On top of all that, the Commonwealth games are still going on and despite the hitches have given us some good sport.

And next week sees the start of the figure skating season proper. The Grand Prix season begins with the NHK trophy in Japan. More on this later but plenty of names will be out there hoping to make a big impresstion-
Reigning world champ Mao Asada hoping to step out of Yu-Na's shadow.
A trio of americans Ashley Wagner, Rachael Flatt and Caroline Zhang.
Olympic silver medallists Pang & Tong and Davis & White
Sochi 2014 hopes- Denis Ten (KAZ), Takahashi & Tran (JPN), Lena Marocco (FRA) and the Shibutanis (USA)
