Happy Birthday Mommy & USA!

Happy Birthday to my beautiful Mom and to the USA!
Happy 4th of July!!!!

Mom, you have taught me everything I would ever need to know. You never fail to listen when I need you the most. You always give me great advice and shower me with support and love. I admire you now that I am older so much more for all of the joy, happiness and comfort you have filled our home with over the past 20+ years. You are a great wife, daughter, sister, and even better Mom and friend. Thank you for all that you do for me and everyone else ALL the time.

As much as well all complain about the government, our living conditions, and anything else that we can ,(because there are always so many things to complain about!!) I absolutely love this country. I love where I live, I love the mountains and free space. I love going hiking. I love being able to travel to see my family within just a few hours. I'm so blessed to live in a safe environment and I thank our troops and veterans for that privilege! God Bless the USA!

I am spending this week out of town (14 hour road trip... help!!!) at the lake with Eric and some of his family! Nothing like a boat, lake, fireworks, friends, family and sunshine for some summertime bliss!! Hope you all have a safe and happy 4th !<3

You know how it is- just as you press the shutter, the subject pulls the card up and hides behind it!

Party On, Science Boy!

Just a brief update...

Sunday saw 16 small friends join LL for his Birthday party at a nearby science and discovery centre, where they all had a riot of a time. The staff were brilliant and made sure all the children (and parent helpers) were looked after.

'Nuff said.

(Isn't it great now the days are beginning to lengthen*? It's light until just after 5pm, great for driving home from the new job.)

*Sorry readers in the southern hemisphere, I guess that means winter is on the way for you.

Squashed Tomatoes And Stew*

Six today. Happy Birthday, LL.

Despite being very photogenic, we have to try really hard not to be silly in front of the camera.

* Happy Birthday to you,
   Squashed tomatoes and stew,
   Bread and butter,
   In the gutter,
   Happy Birthday to you.

Cracking Good Google Doodle

Is it really 20 years since Wallace and Gromit first appeared, in A Grand Day Out? Only seems like yesterday to this big kid LOL.

Thanks to Google.co.uk for this lovely doodle on their search page. Happy 'birthday' to (creator) Nick Park and Aardman Animations and of course the plasticine duo themselves! Read more at the Telegraph on-line.

Pass the cheese and crackers please.

Don't Panic- It's Just Another Day

Have now achieved the answer to the ultimate question of Life, the Universe and Everything as Douglas Adams would have put it. Now all I need to know is, what was the question..? LOL

Happy Birthday me.

Five

Forget the so-called most powerful man in the world, the most important boy in the world (at least to me) celebrated his fifth birthday today. He's all grown up now LOL. Chocolate cake all round!

Now That's What I Call A Cup Cake!

So much for telling everyone I was trying to be good and cut back.

Don't worry- I had no problems polishing off this chocolate and mint work of art, while watching re-runs of Home Improvement. LOL

Make Me A Sunbeam

Thought I'd share this image of Little Lad pretending to be a Sun Dial. Getting him to stand still sometimes is harder than herding cats LOL.

Wasn't the weather great today? As they say the sun shines on the righteous. And Birthday Boys.

Call the Fire Service - Too Many Candles

Choices for the next few days are:

Parties, over-indulgence and likely inebriation.
Or
Hide until all the fuss has died down.
Either way I won't be around for a while

Hospital

Has been a bit of a rubbish weekend.

Mum had to be taken into A&E Friday: her GP was concerned by the test results she had on Wednesday. Apparently the hospital shouldn't have let her go home in the first place.

Mum's blood count was at an all-time low and she had picked up an infection, along with some unpleasant side effects. Also an examination Sunday afternoon has reveiled an enlarged Spleen.

So she spent the weekend mostly wired up to a drip and starring at four boring walls. No doubt more tests, prodding and poking and boredom is in store for her these next few days. At least she is now in the right place to receive the best possible care and now has a bit more colour in her cheeks.

Oh and it's dad's birthday today. I guess it will be cards and pressies down on the ward tonight.
