As our one year quickly appraoches I thought I would post "Our Love Story." I started this blog in the beginning of July 2011 basically as a way to keep my thoughts busy and preoccupied. I got out of a bad relationship at the end of April and was still suffering. Thankfully the blogging world, the start of school and dating this wonderful man put me right back where I belonged.

Eric and I met at the end of July in summer 2011. I was venturing up to Shippensburg for a much needed weekend with my friends from school after a long week at my internship. One of my close friends had gotten back from a month in China just a few weeks earlier and this was the first time we could all reunite.
That Friday night my friend had a party at her house and it was so great to see everyone that I haven't seen in a while due to the summer. We laughed, we ate, we drank and we had a ton of fun. Eric had arrived and was talking to a group of friends. We both ended up in the kitchen talking along with another person, Stephen. Funny story: Stephen had seen pictures of me before my friend left for China and said that I was pretty and he wanted to meet me. My friend was planning on hooking us up that night. Little did we know that Eric had asked Stephen to be his wing man when he was talking to me. Well, that backfired and Stephen and Eric were both trying to talk to me.
These are pictures from the first time we met and were talking at the party (thank you stalker friends). If I remember correctly we were arguing friendly over some government issue. LOL
Later that night my friend had given Eric my number and he texted me after everyone left asking if I wanted to get ice cream the next night (instead of dinner since my friend had told him I had previously made plans). I reluctantly. Sidenote: my friends were pushing it on me at the time and I was just NOT ready to date anyone at that point. (ie. still heartbroken)
I met Eric a lot later than I had planned due to dinner with other friends running over. I will also always remember that my drivers side door handle was broken so I had to spend about 5 minutes trying to get out of my car all the time. I was so scared it was going to happen when I pulled up to meet him for our "date." Thankfully, I got out rather quickly and he did not see (although I made a big stink about it anyways -- go figure). Our "date" was good. He wanted to pick me up, but since I was coming back from dinner in the oppsite direction and it was late I met him there. He paid for my ice cream and we just talked basics.
We ended up hanging out together that night again because we were all attending another party. I remember being bored there because of people causing drama and it was just a mess. He drove me and my friends home that night. :)
Sunday he came with me and my friends to lunch and once again, bought my food. He came back over to my friends house after and we all played Apples to Apples and hung out. I walked him to his car to say goodbye and did not kiss him (despite my friends requests)! I still didn't know him that well and wasn't sure what I wanted out of it. I didn't want to lead him on since I was not in the right state of mind with dating and I told him that we would talk and see how everything was once we got back to school at the end of August. (I think I forgot to mention we both go to the same college) It was honestly really weird that we were both in Shippensburg that weekend and saw each other because NO one is there during the summer with no school.
We talked the rest of the summer and hung out a lot once I got back to school. I still wasn't sure how I felt about the whole situation, but eventually started to take it as it came. We hung out alone, we hung out with friends, we did fun things together. One night (I swear) it suddenly hit me. I was finally able to get over the bad relationship that had ended over 5 months earlier and realize I needed to make a move. It was about midnight when I made this magical realization and I drove over to his office (he was an officer on our Student Senate and had an office in our union building) just to bring him chocolate and say hi. I was SO happy and excited and honestly it was as if something came over me. (I know that sounds crazy, but that's how it happened) My friends say I did a 360 overnight and it's true, I totally did.
He waited to ask me to be his girlfriend after I made it clear I was finally ready! (Poor kid) I was wondering why it was taking him a few days until the night of September 14, 2011.
It was a Wednesday night. I was out of the house (with my roommate) after a long day of classes to attend interviews for my professional fraternity. We came home and were both frustrated with the day and I came in and turned on my bedroom light to find two bouqets of flowers on my desk! I remember my heart dropping like it was yesterday. I was in shock. I went over and saw a note (on purple paper none the less!!) and it was from him. It was so sweet, and asked me to call him when I saw this. First off, I showed my roommate and then realized she was the one who had left the door open for him. The little sneak had pretended to forget something inside right before we left and I took no notice. Now, no one has ever TRULY surprised me in my life. I ALWAYS find out. Always. This was the first of many true surprises from "E". :)
I called him and told him to get over to my house RIGHT NOW haha. He came over and I ran up and hugged him and then we sat on my bed and talked for a while. I believe my friend had called and interrupted what was about to happen. A little while later he said, "I'm going to ask you what I wanted to when I got here." I remember responding, "Wait, don't do it now. Now I know you're going to do it." LOL I made no sense that night. He then said something like no he has to do it right now and asked me to be his girlfriend. I said, "of course!"
And, the rest is history :)
